Qamīs is the second edition of Fragmenta. Through the shirt, it explores the systems of knowledge, labor, and material culture embedded within dress across the Eastern Mediterranean.

Before it was measured.

Before it was cut.

Before it was assembled.

There were systems.

Thread held under tension.

Fiber twisted into continuity.

Surface built through repetition and structure.

The shirt does not begin as a garment. It emerges from a sequence of operations.

Qamīs takes that logic apart; not to reconstruct a history of tailoring in Beirut, Tripoli, or Saida, but to examine making itself.

Though this lens, the qamīs becomes less an object than a way of reading relationships between labor, material, memory, and place.
