Zone A: The Thread as Origin

Weaving & Fabric Exploration

Before the garment, there is the thread.

Drawn under tension, twisted into continuity, woven into surfaces that hold , the fabric of the qamīs begins not with a needle but with a loom. Here, at the origin of making, material is not yet form. It is potential: a field of rhythm, structure, and repetition waiting to become something worn, carried, remembered.

This zone traces that beginning. Threads become language. Surfaces become thought. Visitors are invited to feel the logic of cloth before it is cut; to understand weaving not as background but as the first act of meaning-making.

The works here move between the meditative and the structural: explorations of texture, tension, transparency, and rhythm that reveal how the qamis is already present in its fibers, long before scissors touch the surface.
